Greenville motorcycle driver injured after hitting deer

DARKE COUNTY – On Wednesday at approximately 10:09 p.m., Darke County Sheriff’s Deputies, along with Greenville Township Fire and Rescue, Greenville City Fire, and Greenville Police Department, responded to the 4200 Block of SR 502 in reference to a single vehicle accident with injury.

Preliminary investigation revealed that a Black 2010 Harley Davidson Motorcycle, driven by Perry Rapier (42) of Greenville, was traveling West on SR 502. A deer ran in Rapier’s pathway, causing him to collide with the deer. Rapier traveled off the left side of the roadway, laying down the motorcycle in the ditch.

He was transported to Wayne HealthCare to be treated for minor, non-life-threatening injuries.
