GREENVILLE – The Greenville Senior High School football team is prepping for the 2024 football season under first-year head coach Sean Ford.

“We’re working on everything,” Ford said at a water break. “We’re installing offense. Year one, there is much to accomplish as quickly as possible, but we’re chunking it.”

“First week of camp we learned our three base plays, second week of camp we’re learning three new plays so six days to go over our three plays,” Ford continued. “We’re trying to focus on the small things, do the little things right, and set a foundation because it’s all going to build upon one another.”

With a new coach comes a new playbook and Coach Ford and his staff are putting the time in to accomplish their goals of turning the Green Wave program around.

“Not only are we learning schematics but also the practice format,” Ford stated. “This is a whole new format from everything other than what they are used to, so it’s good for them to see what they will be expecting this fall.”

“Kids are buying in,” Coach Ford concluded.
