GREENVILLE – The Greenville Lady Wave defeated the visiting West Carrollton Lady Pirates 10-0 in an MVL run-rule win extending the team’s current winning streak to 12 games.

“Great day for Lady Wave Softball,” said Greenville coach Jerrod Newland. “Great team win and move to 18-4 on the year. Big league win to add on … 14-1 in the MVL.”

The Lady Wave took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the second and plated 5 runs to lead 6-0 after three innings.

“Kids played fast and hard today and enjoyed playing at the Stadium,” Newland stated.

Greenville used an Addie Burke fifth-inning leadoff double, Kendall Cromwell reaching by way of a hit batsman, and a Morgan Thompson 2-run single to left to lead 8-0. Kylar Arnett put the game away with a walk-off 2-out 2-RBI triple to right for the Lady Wave victory.

“Arnett had a few shots and a walk-off 2-run triple for the run rule,” said Newland.

Zoey Burns went the distance on the mound for the Lady Wave pitching 5.0 innings of shutout ball on 4 hits, 1 walk, and 5 strikeouts.

Arnett paced the Lady Wave going 3-4 at the plate including a triple, 2 RBI, and a run. Burke was 2-3 with a double and 2 runs; Thompson went 2-3 with a double and 3 RBI; Haleigh McDermitt was 2-3 and a run.

Mahayla Cook went 1-2, a HBP, 1 RBI, 1 run; Savannah Leach 1-3, a double, 1 RBI; Ella McLear 1-3, 1 RBI; Kara Blumenstock 2 runs; Lily Brubaker 1 run; Skylar Bryson 1 run and Cromwell a walk and HBP.
