GREENVILLE – The Greenville Kiwanis was chartered in 1921. Kiwanis’ main goal since our beginning has been service to kids. We have sponsored many services over the years, including a health camp in the 1950s, which was located in the park, and included the need for checking the health of those attending the camp.
Most fundraising programs that we were involved with such as pancake days, Treaty City Cross Country Invitational, working the fair gate, selling OSU tickets, were donated to many organizations such as Wayne HealthCare for baby car seats, high school scholarships, Boys’ and Girls’ Club, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Youth for Christ of the Miami Valley, Pregnancy Center, Fish, Grace Resurrection, Everheart Hospice, Christmas for a needy family, and Lifewise Academy.
The Greenville Kiwanis has also sponsored the Greenville High School Key Club, and the Greenville Aktion Club will now be sponsored by the New Madison Kiwanis.
We appreciate all the Greenville Kiwanis members who have served for 104 years to help take care of the needs of Greenville kids, and Greenville itself, with donations to the DAR Water Street Cemetery project and the loss of trees during the tornado last year. We also want to thank Double M Diver for providing a place to meet and serving great meals from the menu.
