Greenville drops MVL matchup to Fairborn

GREENVILLE – Following a season-opening 9-8 comeback win over the Fairborn Skyhawks, the Green Wave dropped a 9-2 MVL road game to Fairborn in Wednesday night action.

Greenville freshman starting catcher Isaac Kerg led the Wave going 2-3 at the plate collecting an RBI, a run scored and 3 stolen bases on the night. B Wills and C Jasenski knocked a single for the Wave.

Fairborn pounded out 11 hits while Skyhawks senior Reuben Marquess was going the distance holding Greenville to 2 hits.

Layne Hocker went 2.1 innings on the mound for Greenville allowing 4 earned runs, 5 hits, 1 walk, and no strikeouts. Braeden Wills tossed 3.2 innings allowing 5 earned runs, 7 hits, and 3 walks while striking out 2 batters.

Greenville fielded 3 freshmen, 5 juniors, and 2 seniors.
