Green Wave tennis wins double-header over Sidney teams

Greenville improves to 12-5 with wins over Sidney Yellow Jackets and Sidney Lehman Cavaliers

GREENVILLE—The Greenville varsity boys tennis team improved its season record to 12-5 with two Wednesday night wins taking a double-header over the Sidney Yellow Jackets and the Sidney Lehman Catholic Cavaliers.

In the opening match, Greenville earned an MVL 3-2 win over Sidney, getting winning matches from Mason Pierri at first singles and doubles teams of Avery Yount / Eli Willis and Drew Beisner / Simon Shyder.

In the night’s second set, the Green Wave defeated Sidney Lehman 4-1, with Mason Pierri winning at first singles and Kaitlin Combs winning her singles match. Both doubles teams of Avery Yount / Eli Willis and Drew Beisner / Simon Snyder double matches.

The Greenville tennis team will honor its seniors tonight, Thursday, May 2nd, with Senior Night at 4:30 p.m., prior to its match with the visiting Troy Trojans.
