GREENVILLE – The Greenville Green Wave varsity boys tennis team celebrated senior night with a hard-fought 3-2 victory over a strong Chaminade Julienne Catholic High School squad, improving to 12-6 on the season.

“Overall I am extremely proud of our team,” said Greenville coach Sam Bowers. “We were playing a good team in tight matches across the board. Three of the five matches went three sets.”

Senior third singles player Drew Beisner earned a straight-set win for Greenville, taking his match 6-3, 6-0.

The Green Wave also came up big in doubles play, with both doubles teams securing victories to clinch the team win.

The first doubles team of Silas Lacey and Gabe Rammel won 6-4, 7-5, while the second doubles team of Kelton Evans and Shane Gilman battled back for a three-set victory, winning 4-6, 7-6, 6-3.

“Great team win when you have so many tight matches,” Bowers said. “Sending seniors off with individual wins for Drew Beisner and Gabe Rammel at their positions and with an overall team win.”
