GREENVILLE—The Aktion Club Member of the Month for October 2022, is Dakata Glick.

Glick is a fairly new member, and has attended Aktion Club meetings for about two years. She was nominated by her peers, but was chosen for her recent success with the Aktion Club Mrs Wick’s Pies Fundraiser.

Glick was the highest seller in the club, to which the club raised just over $700.

She was also elected as the representative for Active Day in Greenville, formerly known as person certified services (PCS).

One of Glick’s favorite things about the club is that it allows her to meet people.

“I like seeing friends,” she said.

In her free time, Greene, who will celebrate her 23rd birthday in the coming weeks, likes to attend the Next Chapter Book Club, dance class at Final Bow Center for Children’s Performing Arts and loves to shop for clothing.

In the month of October, the 33 Aktion Club members volunteered 177 hours of their time, across 17 service projects.

“In honor of our friend, Elizabeth Brewer, who we lost several years ago, who always hated all of the graffiti around town, we cleaned up the graffiti,” Sue Huston, Darke DD Community Connections Coordinator said. “We’re covering the graffiti in this alley, and we want to make it an ongoing project, so we will be seeking out different areas in the community that need cleaned up.”

Huston encouraged anyone with ideas regarding spots that need cleaned up in Darke County, to contact her.

Glick helped out with the graffiti clean up, and said it made her feel good to make a difference.

The club is also gearing up for the holiday season. Each holiday, Aktion Club partners with the St Paul Lutheran Church, and adopts six to eight children and provides them gifts for Christmas.

Huston added that the holidays are a big time for the club.
