GREENVILLE – The Lady Wave and boys’ soccer teams were honored Tuesday night during the MVL matchups, with the boys and girls teams competing in a twin bill.
Greenville senior boys honored were No. 1 Juan Gutierrez, No. 3 Liam Jasenski, No. 6 Layne Hocker, No. 7 Gavin Hayes, No. 10 Kevin Nguyen, No. 11 Ryan Burrowes, No. 15 Adam Edwards, and No. 23 Owen Mcgreevey. The lone Lady Wave senior honored was No. 4 Ava Dutton.
The boys dropped a 4-1 match in the opening contest, with Burrowes finding the back of the net at 28, knotting the score at 1-1, with the teams going to the break with Piqua leading 2-1. The Indians tacked on two scores in second half play to earn the conference win.
The Lady Wave dropped the nightcap 6-0 to the visiting Lady Indians but not before Greenville went to the halftime break trailing by a single point, 1-0.
