GREENVILLE – The 2023 Greenville High School Alumni Game Day is scheduled for July 29th at Harmon Field. Activities kick off at 1 p.m. and conclude with the Lady Wave taking on the Alumni with a 7:30 p.m. start time.
“This is always a great day for the Green Wave Soccer programs,” said Greenville Lady Wave soccer coach, Dave Ernst. “We get to give back to the youth with a FREE soccer camp and then watch them showcase their talents in between the two high school Alumni Games.”
Activities include a free Youth Soccer Camp that is open to all boys and girls entering grades K-8. Registration opens at 12 p.m. at Harmon Field Stadium with no preregistration. GHS coaches and players will instruct the free camp.
The GHS Boys Alumni Game is slated to start at 5 p.m. All past players of Greenville are welcome to join in to take on the 2023 Green Wave soccer team.
“It will be exciting for Coach Cundiff to be coaching his first Varsity match on Harmon Field since taking over the Boys high school position,” Coach Ernst stated. “I know that Coach Cundiff will do a great job with the boy’s program.”
The Darke County Soccer Association (DCSA) Youth Showcase will showcase some of their best Select and Rec players starting a 6:30 p.m. Come out and support the future Green Wave soccer starts.
The Lady Wave High School soccer program wraps up the night with its annual battle versus the alumni, a match the Lady Wave defeated the alumni 6-1 last year.
“It is always a good time playing the Alumni, seeing some of your recent graduates back on the field for another match,” Ernst said. “A great way to wrap-up the summer preseason work and get ready for this year’s high school season that starts on July 31th.”
