Friends, family bid adieu to Ron Moody

Our brother, Ron, has now been laid to rest, and I want to personally thank those family members and friends for their wonderful thoughts on him. Many memories were shared.

I received numerous condolences via email and mail, a couple of phone calls and appreciate those responses so much.

The man was loved and all of the messages received and all of those who attended his visitation and funeral service attested to that.

He was a character and I’m sure he would have smiled proudly at the turnout of the services, especially when his song, Johnny Cash’s “Ring of Fire”, played during the church service. Hopefully, those in attendance understood.

That brought a smile to my face, because he sang that quite a bit during karaoke events he attended. I felt for sure his arm could have come up out of the casket and for him to say his famous line after finishing that song. But he didn’t and that’s okay.

I personally want to thank Pastor Gary Oser for letting Greenville Missionary Church be the site of Ron’s funeral. It was the church he and Nancy attended,

Guests included Ansonia neighbors, former co-workers, several classmates, two of his former hockey teammates during his roller skating days, lots of family members and representatives from Village Green, where he had been residing.

I was impressed by that, as well as the number of vehicles in the funeral procession to Brock Cemetery.

Life is going to be different now that he’s gone, but we know he’s in a better place and out of pain.

Rest In Peace, Ron.
