Friendly reminders regarding City of Piqua refuse pickup:
- Refuse and recycling carts should be out for collection day before 7 a.m., with the wheels and handle toward the curb and with three feet of space surrounding.
- All trash and recycling must be placed and fit inside the cart with the lid down. Bulk items and yard waste containers must be placed behind the carts.
- New rules and fees took effect regarding refuse and recycling in 2023, and the Public Works Department is now enforcing that code.
- Carts are required to be removed from the public right of way within 24 hours of collection.
- If a customer requests a revisit for collection due to carts not being in the appropriate place at the time of their scheduled pickup, a $25.00 recall fee may be assessed.
- Customers will be given notice of the concerns and the opportunity to correct the issue before potentially being assessed a fee.
