Franklin Monroe (21-5, 10-1) – 2nd Place – Coach Troy Myers

Franklin Monroe is coming off one of their best years in school history that includes a District Championship in DVII with a win over Fort Loramie before falling to Botkins in the regional semi-final game.  Look for the Jets to remain competitive this year as well.

Strengths/Keys To Success

While personnel for FM will be vastly different than one year ago, the standard bearers of our team have been strong through summer, fall, and preseason.  Only a couple of returning players have logged significant varsity experience, with several others still learning what is required to compete at this level. The priority in the off-season and pre-season has been developing an environment where guys can grow into their best through habit building. This can be a lengthy process, but their approach and willingness have been exceptional.  The standard for competitive excellence and urgency toward growth will not change.

We’ll lean heavily on the returners to continue being the example and shoulder the load while we all work to create the unity we expect to have, regardless of roster.  Our style of play will be solely dependent upon what we believe puts our kids in the best position to win on game night.  It may change often and it may look different than the past, but we do have some good athletes, and we do have kids who are competitive at their core.

There has been no shortage of investment by our older guys, which is what we’re most proud of.  We’ll go compete like crazy and work each and every day to improve…with faith that by the end of the year we’ve got our best product on the floor.
