GREENVILLE— Continuing its mission, the Foutz Foundation donated a viola and cello to an annual instrument drive on Friday.

Following the park bench dedication in memory of his brother Travis Foutz, foundation founder Brian Foutz, forged a partnership with Shaun Yu, president and CEO of Discover Classical 88.1 and 89.9 FM.

The radio station is involved in an annual instrument drive with Dayton Public Radio and Dayton Philharmonic Volunteers Association.

“Since the partnership started the program eight years ago, we have collected over 1,000 instruments which have been donated to deserving students in Dayton Public Schools and the surrounding regions,” Yu said.

Bach 2 Rock restored the two instruments that were donated on Friday, and the foundation plans to donate additional instruments to the partnership at a later date.

Since its start, the Foutz Foundation has awarded almost $8,000 in instruments to various individuals and organization. The foundation was founded following the death of Travis Foutz in 2017. Travis’s biggest passion was music, and it’s the foundation’s biggest goal to assure every child can share the same love for music that he had.
