The first accumulating winter weather surge of snow is expected to impact the area beginning Sunday afternoon and continuing through Monday morning according to the National Weather Service.
A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for counties north of I-70 – with a possible 3-6 inches of snow expected and a Winter Weather Warning for south of I-70 with a total accumulation of up to over 9 inches.
Local forecasters are still watching this changing system as it closes in, which could change the timing and severity of the snow.
