TROY – This afternoon at 12:21 pm, Troy Fire crews were dispatched to report of a structure fire at 1331 Trade Square West. The reporting caller was from Hook Elementary School and stated that there were visible flames on the second floor.
First arriving fire crews and Troy Police were able to confirm that all the occupants of the 12 apartments were out. Fire crews found fire on the exterior wall extending into the attic space. The fire was quickly extinguished on the exterior of the building and in the attic space. In total, 6 apartments sustained damage related to fire, smoke, or water. There were no injuries reported.
Troy Fire thanks our mutual aid partners who continue to provide assistance. Fire crews from Piqua, Covington, and Tipp City responded to help contain the fire. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation. The Red Cross was requested to assist with the residents. CenterPoint and AES responded to secure the utilities.
Thankfully, there were no injuries and the fire was recognized early. Our prayers are with the affected families.
