GREENVILLE – Eli Wick, a 9-year-old Arcanun student, was all smiles after reeling in a 17-inch bass during Saturday’s Hooked Fishing Derby hosted by the Greenville Masonic Lodge, with equipment and bait provided by the Light Foundation and M&M Defense.

Wick, who will be entering the third grade this fall, caught an impressive 17-inch bass, which was the biggest catch of the day. The best part was that Eli got to share the moment with his grandpa Chris Knick, who has spent many years with his grandson fishing.

“My dad has always loved to fish and has spent many spring and summer days out on the lake with his grandpa, “added Brittany Wick.

“Did you see my fish!? I think Papaw was even more excited than I was,” Eli told his mom excitedly following the event.

“I am glad Eli likes to fish. I enjoy teaching him how to catch them,” said Eli’s grandpa. “Hooked on Fishing is a good program!”
