Edward A. Trick, age 94 of Arcanum, Ohio passed away quietly in his home Monday, August 19, 2024. He was born on September 24, 1929 in Dayton, Ohio and the son of the late Lawrence and Bertha (Schnorr) Trick.

Edward graduated from Chaminade High School in Dayton, Ohio, class of 1947. He married Jacqueline Korte on May 7, 1955 at Holy Angels Catholic Church of Dayton, and they raised a family of seven and were married over 63 years. In addition to being a devout Catholic, he was a true gentleman, and lived a true example of a Christian, showing love by example. He served as an airplane mechanic during the Korean War servicing Cessna observation planes. He became a Tool Designer in his father’s Tool and Die Co., later with Kendall Tool and Gem City Engineers. He also had done some work for John Deere Company. In his free time, he loved antiques and going to auctions.

He will be greatly missed and dearly remembered by his loving family: sons Ed Trick Jr. of Arcanum, Thomas (Brenda) Trick of Richmond Hill, Ga., John (Mindy) Trick of Greenville, David (Susan) Trick of London, TN., daughters Karen (Richard) Cline of Arcanum, Susan (Larry) Harter of Arcanum and Nancy (Scott) Troutwine of Arcanum; 12 grandchildren: Erin (Ryan) McKenna, Jonathan (Veronica) Cline, Kelly Cline, Holly Trick (David Rogers), Heather Trick Ostroff (Jordan), Stacy (Rob) Voutila, Justin (Haley) Trick, Tyler (Emily) Trick, Ryan Trick, Amy Trick, Amber Trick, and Andrew Trick; 11 great-grandchildren: Charlotte McKenna, Audrey McKenna, Evelyn Cline, Violet Cline, Aria Rogers, Wyatt Rogers, Benjamin Ostroff, Banks Voutila, Emery Trick, Isla Trick, Theodore Trick and a great-granddaughter due in November; sister Teresa Trick, brother William (Joan) Trick as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Jacqueline, his brothers Herman, (Henrietta) Trick, Robert Trick, Leonard (Betty) Trick, Louis Trick, Fr. James Trick, twins Lawrence Jr. and Leo (Anne) Trick.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, August 26, 2024 at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 233 West Third Street Greenville, Ohio with Father Matt Feist Celebrant. Burial with Full Military Honors by the Greenville Veterans Honor Guard will follow in the St. Mary’s Catholic Church Cemetery, Greenville, Ohio. The family will receive friends on Monday, August 26, 2024 from 9:30 AM until 10:30 AM in the Zechar Bailey Funeral Home in Greenville, Ohio.
