GREENVILLE – Dunkin’ held its Grand Opening this morning in Greenville. The popular breakfast food and coffee chain has been highly anticipated opening its newest location at 655 Wagner Ave. but was briefly delayed, causing local fans like George Mittermann of Wayne Lakes to have to wait just a little longer.

After learning of the grand opening, Mittermann started planning on making sure he was awake and the first in line once the doors officially opened for business at 4 a.m.

“I thought it would be pretty cool to be the first one in the door to get the absolute first cup of joe from Dunkin’ sold to a customer on their opening day,” Mittermann said. “I was raised in upstate New York where Dunkin’s are plentiful. Now there’s finally one in the town that I live in again!”

After Mittermann placed his order, he was thrilled to see that the server had written “1st Cup Greenville” and even signed her name on his cup of coffee.

Dunkin’s hours of operation are 4 a.m. to 10 p.m., 7 days a week.
