DARKE COUNTY – On Sunday, at approximately 6:21 pm, Darke County Deputies, along with Greenville TWP Fire and EMS, responded to the 2900 block of SR 571 West in reference to a single-vehicle crash.
Investigation revealed a 2006 Chevrolet Avalanche, driven by Justin Taylor (45) of Greenville, was traveling southeastbound on SR 571 West when he traveled off the right side of the road, striking a mailbox before entering the ditch and striking a utility pole.
While on scene, Taylor presented numerous indicators of being under the influence of alcohol. Taylor was placed under arrest for suspicion of Operating a Vehicle while under the Influence of alcohol and transported to the Darke County Jail. Taylor submitted to a breathalyzer test and was subsequently booked into jail.
Taylor is being charged with (2) counts of OVI, a 1st degree misdemeanor, and Failure to Control a Motor Vehicle, a minor misdemeanor.
Taylor has since posted bond pending his arraignment with the Darke County Municipal Court.
