DARKE COUNTY – On Saturday at approximately 5:36 am, Darke County Deputies, along with Arcanum Fire and Rescue, were dispatched to the 200 block of SR 503 in reference to a single-vehicle accident with injury.
Preliminary investigation revealed a black 2023 GMC truck, driven by Paul Speer (33) of Brookville was traveling southbound on SR 503 when he traveled left of the centerline and off the left side of the roadway striking a tree head-on.
CareFlight was requested at the scene but could not fly due to weather conditions.
Arcanum Rescue transported Speer to Miami Valley Hospital for further evaluation. Speer is in stable condition at this time. Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the accident.
This accident remains under investigation by the Darke County Sheriff’s Office.
