VERSAILLES – A driver escaped serious injury when an oncoming train demolished the cab of his stalled semitrailer at approximately 10:30 a.m. Wednesday morning in Versailles.

The semi, which was carrying a full load of eggs, stalled on the railroad crossing at N West St. As seen in this video posted on Facebook, it appears the driver attempted to back off the tracks before stalling. He then got out of the cab and was able to get safely clear before the collision.

The incident remains under investigation at this time.
