VERSAILLES – On May 19th, Versailles FFA held a softball game with St Henry FFA and a cookout at the Versailles K of C Hall. Two freshmen were selected as May’s FFA members of the month, and they include Alayna Dirksen and Margaret Schmitmeyer.
Alayna Dirksen is a freshman and two-year member of Versailles FFA. She has participated in monthly meetings, poultry days, farm to fork, the fall harvest sale, leadership night, fruit sales, the soup and sandwich social, greenhouse open house, and farm day clean up. Alayna has participated in the State Floriculture CDE, serves as our Chapter’s Assistant Historian, and just hosted farm day. Her SAE consists of maintaining flowers in her window boxes and working at Nature Reflections this summer. Alayna is the daughter of Adam and Jana Dirksen. Alayna received a shirt and a certificate. Congratulations to Alayna Dirksen named Versailles FFA member of the month.
Margaret Schmitmeyer is a freshman and a second-year member of Versailles FFA. Margaret has participated in monthly meetings, shop and crop, the fall harvest sale, the college and military fair, leadership night, the toy drive, fruit sales, soup and sandwich social, omelet breakfast, and the greenhouse open house. Margaret has participated in the floriculture and dairy judging codes and serves as our chapter’s assistant secretary. Her SAE consists of job placement on her family farm. Margaret is the daughter of Ben and Mallory Schmitmeyer. She received a shirt and a certificate.
