GREENVILLE — The Darke County Tractor Pullers Association filled the track with action Monday night at the Great Darke County Fair, setting the stage for Tuesday evening’s National Tractor Pullers Association Regional National event.

The DCTPA hosted Monday’s tractor pull in front of the fair grandstands under clear skies, drawing an impressive field of competitors with 178 total hooks.

The event featured 94 antique hooks along with 84 Fast Class hooks. Classes included Too Hot to Farm, Natural Supers, Alt Gas 4×4 Trucks, 2WD Trucks, Hot Rods and 8,000 Open Trucks.

While Monday provided plenty of pulling action for fairgoers, it also served as a warm-up for one of the fair’s biggest motorsports events.

The NTPA takes over the grandstand track Tuesday, Aug. 25, for a Regional National show beginning at 7 p.m.

The event gives Darke County fairgoers an opportunity to watch competitors from the national pulling circuit without having to travel far from home.
