Darke DD’s Aktion Club, sponsored by Greenville Kiwanis Club, hosted a free summer block party at South Park in Greenville and had a blast doing it.

“This is our community give back; we are just offering a free event for the community.” Sue Huston said.

Darke DD’s Aktion Club set up lawn games and hosted a free lunch. Anyone in the community was more than welcome to come and enjoy! They had corn hole, ladder golf, a volleyball net, and more set up for everyone to enjoy. For Lunch, they had hot dogs, chips, popcorn, and even free snow cones from Kona Ice!

First Responders were invited out to the event as well. Firefighters, EMTs, police officers, and sheriff’s deputies all came out to meet the kids. They were breaking down barriers between the first responders and kids and showing the kids a fun time!

The Aktion club even brought out a clown to make this event even more fun and special! She played games with the kids and was a truly wonderful entertainer.

Make sure you attend their next event!

“We want to invite the community to a similar event on Thursday, July 27th, from 5-7 pm at the Darke DD office.” Sue Huston said. “It’s a family fun night. It’s a lot of the same things. It’s our give back to the community.”
