Darke County Commissioners

DARKE COUNTY – The December 18, 2025, regular session of the Darke County Commissioners started at 1:30 p.m. with Commissioners Aultman, Combs, and Flatter present. The Commissioners then approved the minutes from December 16, 2025. Then, the Examination and allowance of bills for December 18th were presented. The totals were $44,409.01 for the General fund, $271.029.41 for outside funds, and a total of $315,438.42.

Sealed bids from eight different contractors for the South High Street Reconstruction in Arcanum were accepted and will be examined to make sure all specifications were met.

The Commissioners then went into executive session to discuss Collective Bargaining matters. They entered at 1:45 and were declared out at 2:04. The matter was approved.

Doss Business Systems offered a renewal of the County’s advanced protection gateway for one year at a cost of $820.22. The contract was approved.

A 2022 FAA Terminal Infrastructure Grant was advanced back to the County. The total was $53,500.00

The Commissioners authorized making an application to the ODOT office of Aviation for an airport improvement grant. The grant is for $781,300.00 for a 300’ extension to the current apron. The Commissioners’ part, if the grant is accepted, is $78,300.00.

A new hangar ground lease was accepted for the airport. The Lease is for .359 acres of airport property to build a private 125’x125’ hangar, with a 25’ setback. The ground is leased for five years at an annual cost of $9,600.00. It is renewable every five years.

Two zero-dollar contracts were approved for the Recorder to Fidler Tech for fraud alert notices.

The October 2025 unemployment rate for the county was 3.79%, down from 4.3% earlier in the year.
