DARKE COUNTY – The Darke County Sheriff’s Office recently released its annual report for the 2024 year.
In a post on their official Facebook page, the DCSO stated, “This report is our commitment to our citizens to be transparent by providing a summary of tasks performed over the past year.”
Darke County Sheriff Mark E. Whittaker addressed the citizens of Darke County in the report…
“It is a pleasure and honor to serve Darke County, Ohio. As we close out 2024 I am concluding my first term as Sheriff after completing the unexpired term of my predecessor, retired Sheriff Toby L. Spencer. As you may recall, Sheriff Spencer retired October 31, 2021 and I was appointed and eventually elected to fulfill the remainder of his term. This annual report will be the third one issued since I became Sheriff and is part of my commitment to be transparent to the public by providing a summary of tasks we have performed over the year. As I begin a new term as Darke County Sheriff, my staff and I have retaken an oath to once again support the Constitution of the United States of America and the State of Ohio, and to serve the citizens and visitors of Darke County. We look forward to providing you professional and caring service in 2025.
This annual report provides statistical information about the Darke County Sheriff’s Office as we look back at the year of 2024. As Sheriff, I am statutorily required to file a number of
reports throughout the year. It is important that we provide as much information as possible about the Sheriff’s Office and the work the employees perform during the year. This report is available through the Sheriff’s Office website and can be downloaded as a pdf document for your use. I would encourage you to view our Weekly Activity Report which is a log of the deputies’ calls for service. This can be viewed under the Community tab along with the Annual Report on our website at www.darkecountysheriff.org
