Darke County Sheriff’s Deputies investigate injury accident

GREENVILLE—Darke County deputies’ along with Greenville Township Fire, Greenville Township Rescue were dispatched to the intersection of US 127 and Kruckeburg Road, Darke County, Ohio in reference to a multiple vehicle accident with possible injuries on Nov. 2 at approximately 2 p.m.

Preliminary investigation revealed an orange Ford Mustang was traveling northbound on US 127 and started to make a U-Turn in the designated portion of the roadway. As the Mustang was completing the U-Turn, the Mustang pulled into the path of a 2017 Peterbilt semi, driven by Robert Klingshirn (58) of Fort Recovery, Ohio. Mr. Klingshrin swerved to avoid the Mustang and struck a 2013 Buick, driven by Tracy Canada (47) of Greenville, Ohio. Mr. Canada vehicle lost control and traveled over a concrete median, striking a 2013 Honda, driven by Laura Luginbuhl (42) of Gettysburg, Ohio.

A passenger of Mr. Canada’ s vehicle, Phillip Weiss was transported to Wayne Health Care. Mr. Weiss’s injuries are unknown at the time of this new release. This accident is still under investigation.

Update on Crash

After receiving dash cam video, the orange Mustang completed the U-turn in the designated U-turn area. The orange mustang then pulled out onto the southbound lane of US127 in front of Canada. Canada attempted to change lanes to avoid collision with the southbound Mustang. Canada then traveled into Klingshirn lane of travel, causing Klingshirn to strike his vehicle. Canada then lost control the vehicle and crossed over a concrete median and struck Lugunbuhl’s vehicle.
