DARKE COUNTY – The third Thursday of each month is dedicated to a crafting project in the early afternoon. October’s craft will be led by Denise Palivec in creating a terra cotta suet holder/feeder.
Suet feeders are less messy than seed feeders and provide a good source of whole grain for birds in the winter months. Suet helps birds refuel after cold nights and is a good source of fat. Many bird species, such as cardinals, chickadees, jays, nuthatches, woodpeckers, and wrens, are drawn to suet.
This craft class costs $5 and will take place on Thursday, October 16th, from 1 to 3 pm. Those interested in attending this must RSVP by 10/9 by calling or texting Wally at (508) 789-3884 or Mary at (937) 423-2565.
As a special treat, another crafting event will take place on Thursday, October 30th, starting at 1 pm. Instructor Selena Burk will guide and mentor participants in recreating the Van Gogh sunflower painting. This class is also $5 with an RSVP by 10/23 to the same contact numbers, as listed above.
