Let us recycle your live Christmas trees!
Don’t let your tree end up in a landfill. When organic waste is buried underground, it takes longer to break down and releases methane in the process, which is worse for the environment than carbon dioxide.
Drop off your LIVE tree at Shawnee Prairie Preserve between December 26 – January 31.
To drop your tree off at Shawnee Prairie Preserve, follow the gravel service lane to the right of the parking lot. The drop-off site will be located up past the raptor mew on the right-hand side, just before the red barn.
Before dropping off your tree, please remove all decorations, including ornaments, tinsel, garland, etc. Flocked trees can not be recycled.
