DARKE COUNTY – The Darke County Commissioners’ October 9, 2025, regular meeting started at 1:30 p.m. with Commissioners Aultman, Flatter, and Combs present. The Commissioners then approved the minutes from October 7th. The examination and allowance of bills for October 9th were $82,532.21 for the General fund, $523,259.10 for outside funds, and a total of $605,791.31, all of which were approved.
Two sewer districts had Appropriation and Fund Transfers. The Gordon/Ithaca Sewer had appropriation increase of $350.00, and a fund advance from the General to outside fund of $175.00 to cover software and maintenance. The Fort Jefferson Sewer had an appropriation increase of $17,550.00, and a fund advance of $175.00 to cover Software support and maintenance.
Darke County Grants asked for a request for proposal for a Darke County Jail needs assessment and Master plan. A pre-proposal meeting is scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 16th at 10:00 a.m. Submissions should be made in a package clearly marked DARKE COUNTY ASSESSMENT NEEDS PROPOSAL, no later than 1:00 p.m., October 31, 2025, to the Commissioner’s office, attention Ms. Susan Laux.
Darke County Grants will receive sealed bids for asbestos removal and demolition of vacant and blighted buildings until 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at the Commissioner’s office. This program is under the 2024 Demolition and Site Revitalization program, Phase II. All work shall be completed no later than December 31, 2025.
The Commissioners had two transfers of Appropriations. One transfer was for $50.00 for APA, plus additional premiums for additional PA, and $4000.00 to pay Greenville water and sewer payments for Wagner Avenue Government complex.
The monthly obligation report was presented to be journalized, and the Sheriff asked for approval to send a letter for a grant for Body Cameras for all deputies. The grant is from the Office of Criminal Justice for a two-year grant totaling $59,142.60.
Session adjourned at 1:49. As a reminder, the County offices will be closed on Monday, October 13, 2025, for Columbus Day.
