Darke County Fine Arts adds Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities categories

GREENVILLE – While things were in the works with a new secretary and ideas, the special meeting held this past Wednesday, at the time, had adjusted to be more inclusive, with everyone being in their own age categories. That change wasn’t to discriminate but to be more inclusive, like other departments and shows with age-only divisions. All artwork was welcome and had a deadline of July 21.

Fairboard Director, Christoph Keller, says, “However, after careful consideration and talking with more individuals, this was weighing heavily on my heart because the intent was never to be ill-intended. I feel we have time to adjust this and I personally will see this through. Our goal is to grow the department and our fair for everyone.”

Our community is blessed to have Darke DD. We want to recognize the value they add to our community. It’s important to celebrate their talents and achievements.

With all this said, the Fine Arts will add an Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities Category. All projects for this category need to be dropped off and will be registered on the following dates and times to the Fine Arts Building:

Friday, August 8 from 1:00 PM – 6:00 PM

Saturday, August 9 from 12:00 PM – 5 PM

This addition for drop and registry is only for the Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities categories, not for any other categories that missed the deadline date.
