Darke County EMA releases information on tornado debris recovery efforts

DARKE COUNTY – The Darke County Emergency Management Agency, Greenville Twp Fire & Rescue and the Darke County Sheriff’s Office completed a damage assessment today following the EF 2 tornado that occurred on Thursday, March 14.

Based on the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) categories of residential property damage, the following was identified – 5 destroyed, 15 major, 18 minor and 15 affected. This information has been submitted to the Ohio Emergency Management Agency.

We are working with the Darke County Solid Waste District to share resources for property owners as the clean-up is underway.

Residents are reminded to work closely with their insurance companies, track their expenses with receipts and to only work with trusted and verified clean-up companies and contractors.

Anyone who was affected is encouraged to call the American Red Cross at 1-800-RedCross. Click here for information on storm debris management.
