Darke County Commissioners wish all a Merry Christmas

DARKE COUNTY – The Darke County Commissioners’ December 23, 2025, public session started at 1:34 pm. All Commissioners were present. The reading of the minutes from Dec. 18th was first and approved, and the examination and allowance of bills was next. The General Fund total was $1,384.91. The Outside General funds were $0.00, and the total was $1,384.91, and was approved.

OSU’s Extension updates from Caden Buscher and Jessica Fisher were next.

The next agenda item was a proposal for professional consulting services on courthouse HVAC and other efficiencies for other buildings with County Firm. The prosecuting attorney approved of the said form, and the agreed-upon fee of $74,500.00 was approved.

A release of mortgage check for $8,212.50 for a 2014 Rehabilitation loan on the mortgage of Nanette Zeller, dated January 7th, 2016, was approved. The property is in New Madison, Ohio.

A memorandum of understanding (MOU) between Darke County JFS and the Sheriff’s office for investigative services for food stamp fraud and other violations of the Food and Drug Nutrition Act of 2008 was approved. It is effective Jan.1st, 2026, until Dec. 31st, 2026. The maximum amount of the contract is $97,614.40. Overtime is jointly approved for further investigations.

The School Resource Officer Agreement was presented. Schools participating are Ansonia, Bradford, Franklin Monroe, Mississinawa Valley, and Tri-Village. From Jan. 1st, 2026, until June 2nd, 2026, the sheriff will provide 40 hours of service per week for a total of $50,951.50 per school, to be billed in two increments.

A quote from Rieck Services to repair a steam pipe in the Courthouse was approved. The total cost is $15,560.00.
