MEETING – MARCH 18TH
The Darke County Commissioners held a regular session today at 1:30 in the Administration Building. On the agenda were the regular session minutes from last Thursday, which passed unanimously, and then the examination and allowance of bills. The vouchers, including any “then and now” certificates in the amount of the General fund, were $17,068.83; Outside General funds of $605,753.47, for a total of $622,822.30, were unanimously approved for payment. Money was approved for Emily Thornhill of the Darke County Municipal Court for her to attend a mandatory Court Clerks conference on May 20-24th for a total of $1035.00. Included were mileage, lodging, meals, and registration. A change order for the Gettysburg Water Tower project was also approved. The change order was lowered by $16,900, bringing the total cost to $1,286,100, with $500.000 from a C.D.B.G grant.
Sealed bid awards were given to Brant Grain Farms, LLC., for all three farms: the South Farm, the South Airport Farm, and the Airport West farm. The South and West farms went for $315 an acre, and the South farm for $275 an acre. All Commissioners unanimously approved.
In other happenings, Commissioner Combs attended the Gerald F. Subler Memorial Highway Dedication on March 15th. Stating what a great event it was, he stated that he was honored to be there, and was happy to dedicate the highway in Gerald’s honor. Greg Billings of the Darke County Visitors Bureau gave an update on things around the county, and showed a new booklet and map of the Wine and Ale trail that will be available. They may be picked up at the Visitors Bureau on Broadway in Greenville.
There will be no Regular session on Tuesday, March 25, as two of the commissioners, Aaron Flatter and Matt Aultman, will attend meetings out of town. The regular session for Thursday, the 20th, will still be held at 1:30 in the Administration Building, just South of the Courthouse.
