GREENVILLE – The Darke County Board of Commissioners met Thursday afternoon.
Commissioners Matt Aultman and Marshall Combs were present. Larry Holmes was absent due to prior obligations.
Commissioners approved an Application to Employ Outside Counsel. Darke County Prosecuting Attorney Kelly Ormsby presented the application ‘to assist the Prosecuting Attorney regarding the Commissioner’s outside Counsel for the Broadband project.’
“We are keeping the same attorney and his associates working on this,” said Ormsby. “They are now with another firm. We just want to be safe and correct.”
Under Resolution (R-176-2024), Authorizing filing of the Darke County PY2024 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) was approved. Three projects throughout the community of Darke County were proposed to be recipients of the PY2024 CDBG Allocation Program funds of $232,000. These include the Villages of Ansonia, Village of New Weston, and Village of Palestine.
The total for all three projects, the General Administration and Fair Housing, is $268,100. The County also pledged $36,100 from the Darke County Revolving Loan Fund to ensure the completion of all projects.
Commissioner Combs shared information regarding the event page for the Darke County Visitors Bureau.
“The community events calendar is now live on the Visitor’s Bureau website. It is something that Greg Billing, the director, has been working on for the last couple of months,” said Combs.
