Daniel Phillip Coppess, 79 of Greenville, Ohio lost his battle with diabetes on Wednesday, August 21, 2024 but it is well with my soul. Dan was born December 31, 1944 in Greenville, Ohio, the son of the late John D. and Mary E. (Fritz) Coppess.
Dan retired from Fram in 2006 after 35 years. He attended The Valley Church in Piqua; he loved the Lord and sharing the word of the Lord; he enjoyed singing and his favorite song was It is Well; he was a joker; collected baseball cards and NASCAR items; he loved to travel, the Cincinnati Bengals, and the Ohio State Buckeyes.
Dan is preceded in death by his parents; his twin brother, Samuel Coppess; and his sister, Shirley Ann Johnson-Nolan.
Dan is survived by his wife of 60 years, Sonja (Supinger) Coppess whom he married June 19, 1964; his children and spouses, Monty and Jenny Coppess, Michelle and David Hiestand; his grandchildren, Zack Coppess and fiancée Lilian Mull, Ashlynn Coppess (Angel), Julia Coppess, Grace Coppess, and Trenton Coppess; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to EverHeart Hospice or the American Diabetes Association.
