County Commissioners Enter 2026 on Strong Financial Footing

DARKE COUNTY – The December 30, 2025, regular Darke County Commissioners meeting started at 1:34 p.m. with Commissioners Aultman, Combs, and Flatter present. The Commissioners then approved the minutes from Dec. 23rd.

The Commissioners then approved amending the 2025 year-end appropriations and estimated revenues.

The Permanent Appropriation Resolution for Darke County for 2026 was then approved. There are 69 departments in the County General Fund totaling $49,827,174.07. There are 130 outside General funds totaling $79,892.447.52, with 23 new funds added. Total appropriations for 2026 are $129,719,621.59. Darke County has applied for 8 new reimbursable grants totaling $4,295,000.00. 

A lease renewal for the Darke County Engineer between Stephan and Crista Bonfiglio and the Engineer for the garage behind 520 S. Broadway in Greenville was approved. The lease is for 2026 in the amount of $3,250.00.

The Sheriff’s office has reached an agreement with Hyper-Reach Technologies to replace the Code Red Emergency system at an annual rate of $11,500.00.

Kyeran Meade submitted his resignation as Vehicle Maintenance Assistant, effective on the 16th of December. It was accepted.
