Construction Contract Awarded for Road Resurfacing

DARKE COUNTY – The Darke County Commissioners’ regular March 24, 2026, meeting started at 9:30 p.m. with Commissioners Aultman, Combs, and Flatter present. The Commissioners then approved the minutes from March 19, 2026.

The Examination and Allowance of bills dated March 24th were presented. The General Fund amount was $19,528.34, and the Outside General Funds were $16,710,36, totaling $36,238.70. They were approved.

A Fund advance for Darke County Grants for $8,079.40 to cover the SME invoice from 2/20/2026-3/1/2026 for the 2024 Brownfield Grant for Treaty Lanes was approved.

A Fund Advance back for the Sheriff in the amount of $26,163.60 from the 2023 JAG Grant was also approved.

JAB Rentals was awarded the sale of 118 W. Fifth Street in Greenville for the amount of $40,001.00

A Hangar eviction notice was issued by the Sheriff to Mr. Vomholt to remove his airplane by Jan. 28th, 2026, but he was not removed. The commissioners informed Mr. Vomholt that, within 14 days of receipt of the notice, they will sell the airplane at Sheriff’s Auction to recoup $6,770.00 of back rent. Other people are on a list for the vacant Hangar.

Walls Bros. Asphalt was awarded the bid to resurface County and Township roads for a total of $2,920,854.50.

The Commissioners then went into Executive Session at 9:39 a.m. to discuss Pending or Imminent Court Action.

The Commissioners came out of Executive session at 9:43 a.m. and, under the Prosecutor’s advisement, hired Pollock Law, who specializes in employment Law.
