The Darke County Board of Commissioners met on Tuesday afternoon, August 1, to discuss a fund advance to cover Willo Product’s Contract services and a letter of support for Miami University.

The board approved Resolution (R-225-2023). This is a fund advance to cover the Willo Product’s Contract for services in May, June, and July. This fund advance would move $1,025,939.10 from the General Fund to the Outside Fund. An advance back will be made once revenue is received from the Local Jail Capital Projects Grant.

The board then signed a letter of support for Miami University. This is in support of Miami University’s application for the Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA) Build to Scale Program.

“Miami University is starting up a Rural Plus program, and part of that is trying to go after some funding,” Commissioner Marshall Combs said. “They asked that we provide a letter of support for the EDA Build to Scale Program. We just wanted to show our support to them as they try to support our county with job growth.”

The Darke County Board of Commissioners also met on Thursday afternoon, July 27, to discuss the Darke County Airport.

The board heard from Dale Musser, Facilities and Safety Manager, who gave quotes for the Insulate Airport Airplane Hangar Project for the Darke County Airport. After going through three different quotes, Musser recommended the approval of the LG Construction LLC quote for a total of $20,840. The board approved his recommendation.
