GREENVILLE – The Darke County Commissioners met Thursday afternoon to discuss

Commissioners Matt Aultman, Larry Holmes, and Marshall Combs were present.

The board approved Resolution (R-197-2023) to accept the General Fund Budget 2024 from Carol Ginn, the County Auditor. The budget was submitted with estimated appropriations of $40,058,644.23. This included an estimated 15% increase in Health Insurance and a 3% increase in Salary lines.

The board then approved Resolution (R-199-2023), a two-step revenue and appropriations increase and transfer of appropriations for the Community Corrections Grant. Step one gives a total revenue increase of $55,848 and a total appropriation increase of $55,848. Step two transfers $26,170.50 to Community Corrections to cover the county share for the Community Corrections Grant.

“This is our adult probation fund that we get from the state,” Commissioner Aultman said. “We apply for this grant on a bi-annual basis, and this is setting up lines for the state grant money that’s coming back to the county. This administrates the staff and adult probation and is for the courts.”

The board then approved Resolution (R-202-2023). This enters the Darke County Commissioners into an Agreement with the Village of New Madison for the Sewer development for the Village of Fort Jefferson. This is a 40-year agreement that includes a one-time tap-in fee of $600,000.
