DARKE COUNTY – The Darke County Commissioners, Aaron Flatter and Marshall Combs, were present at the June 10, 2025, regular meeting. Matt Aultmen was absent at a Farm Bureau meeting. The regular session began at 1:30 in the Administration Building. On the agenda were the regular session minutes from June 5th, which passed unanimously, then the examination and allowance of bills were presented for June 5th and 10th. The vouchers, including any “then and now” certificates in the amount of the General fund, were $54,119.30; Outside General funds of $59,527.97 for a total of $113,647.27 were unanimously approved for payment.
The Miami Valley Community Partnership (CAP) gave its 2024 annual report. The report was given by Erin Jeffries. CAP had a 2024 budget of 20 million dollars, and used the money to serve poverty issues, housing, and rent assistance, among other issues. CAP has been helping people change their lives for over 60 years.
Two outside funds transferred money today. The Darke County Local Emergency Planning Committee(LEPC) moved $8,000.00 to training, and the Common Pleas court moved $100,000.00 from other operating funds to Computers+10 for a new audio/video evidence presentation system.
Two fund advances were next. Darke County EMA moved $8,000.00 from advance out to advance in. Darke County Grants moved $257.00 for advertising costs for the 2024 Bldg. Demo Revival Grant from advance out to advance in, and $117.00 for advertising for the 2024 CDBG grant (advance out to advance in).
The Family and Children’s First Council got a Revenue and Appropriation increase for the 2026 Early Intervention Grant. The increase was $218,287.00.
The 2025 Critical Infrastructure Grant Application for Wayne Lakes was submitted. The Grant is for $475,000.00 for road repair on several roads in the village. The Village share is $25,000.00 for a total of $500,000.00.
Lastly, the Darke County Prosecutor is sending Joshua Kunkel to a Building trial skills seminar at the Seattle School of Law. The cost is $3,242.32. The school is from August 13th to the 17th.
