Commissioners sign National County Government Month Proclamation

DARKE COUNTY – The Darke County Commissioners, Matt Aultman, Aaron Flatter, and Marshall Combs, had a proclamation signing at 1:15 in the Commissioner’s office for National County Government month. Students, Teachers, and County officials attended a pizza lunch provided by Darke County Auditor Carol Ginn. The Students were taken to the County Jail, Animal Shelter, Courthouse, and other county offices to learn about County Government.

The regular session began at 1:30 in the Administration Building. On the agenda was the regular session minutes from last Thursday, which passed unanimously, then the examination and allowance of bills. The vouchers, including any “then and now” certificates in the amount of the General fund was $66,498.35; Outside General funds of $87,039.09, for a total of $153,751,57 were unanimously approved for payment.

Next, a fund transfer for the Darke County Auditor and the Darke County Grants Dept. were read and approved. The Auditor’s office is to use $50,000 for permanent improvements to App Architecture for contract services for the Wagner Ave. remodel. The Grants Dept. for $6,331.00 for the contract for Willo that came in higher than expected. The final invoice will be the County share.

An expense request was approved for the Darke County Common Pleas Court for Brittany Johns to attend a mandatory conference in Sharonville for $885.00. The Commissioners then approved a letter of support for Wayne Health Care supporting the Spending/Community project funding request submitted by Wayne Healthcare.  This request is for funding for the advanced imaging initiative.

A contract was approved for the Meeker Road Bridge replacement project for $740,000 with Brumbaugh Construction. The Commissioners then approved and signed the Darke County Jobs and Family Services biennial sub-agreement with the Ohio Jobs and Family Services and the Ohio Dept. of Medicaid for fiscal years 2026 and 2027. The contract was approved by the prosecutor as to form.

A letter of resignation for the Ditch Maintenance Supervisor, Jeff McMiller was accepted, and then National County Government month was entered into the Journal. Next meeting is Thursday, the 17th in the Commissioner’s office at 1:30.
