DARKE COUNTY – The Darke County Commissioners held the regular meeting on October 28, 2025, with the meeting starting at 1:30 p.m. Commissioners Aultman and Flatter were present; Commissioner Combs was absent. The Commissioners then approved the minutes from Oct. 23rd. Then the examination and allowance of bills for October 23rd and October 28th were $32,779.99 for the General fund, $476,390.02 for outside funds, and a total of $509,170.01.
A bid opening for the 2024 Demolition and Site Revitalization Grant, Phase II was presented. Three bids were opened. Land Lift Incorporated, Mikesell Excavating, and PEL L.L.C. were the bids accepted to be reviewed.
Transfers of Appropriations were next. The Auditor transferred $1,000,000.00 to cover upgrades and improvements at the Wagner Facility. The Engineer transferred $100,000.00 for vehicle maintenance for the remainder of the year. The Auditor’s second transfer was for Vehicle maintenance for $25,000. Ditch Maintenance transferred $10,000.00 for a purchase, and the Commissioners transferred $2,400.00 for Civility training for county employees.
Two fund advance backs by the Commissioners and the Grants department were approved. The Commissioners’ advance back was from the 2023 Broadband Ohio Grant for $200,000.00, and the Grants Dept. advance back was for the Gordon/Ithaca Sewer for $21,000.00
The Animal Shelter had some old file cabinets declared as junk, and that was accepted by the Commissioners.
