GREENVILLE – The Darke County Board of Commissioners met on Tuesday afternoon.
Commissioners Matt Aultman, Marshall Combs, and Larry Holmes were present.
The board approved Resolution (R-51-2024). This resolution establishes the Darke County 911 Program Review Committee. This Committee will meet no later than the first day of March each year with the Darke County Sheriff and the 911 Coordinator to review, adopt, and accept a final 911 plan, a report detailing the sources of revenue and expenditures to operate the county-wide system.
“The sheriff had come into our office a week or two ago, underneath some new state rules and interpretations from prosecutors office and prosecutors opinion, we have to establish a Darke County 911 Program Review Committee,” Commissioner Matt Aultman said. “This establishes what they recommended, both the sheriff and the prosecutor.”
The board also approved an application to employ Anthony E. Kendell as legal counsel to assist the Darke County Prosecuting Attorney in the potential prosecution of Christian Idle, who was previously employed as an Ansonia Police Officer. To ensure this matter is handled in an unbiased manner, Prosecuting Attorney Kelly Ormsby recommends a prosecutor outside of Darke County should handle it.
“This application for legal counsel is a continuation of a previous case,” Commissioner Aultman said. “We have additional items that they need to take care of.”
The board then approved Resolution (R-53-2024) This resolution is two transfers of appropriations. The first is a transfer of $7,000 for Darke County Common Pleas to cover recording equipment and support for the magistrate’s courtroom. The second transfer is $30,000 for Darke County Solid Waste to cover benches for 2024.
