The Darke County Board of Commissioners met on Thursday to discuss CSEA funds, the Darke County Airport, and a quote for the Darke County Sheriff’s Department. Commissioners Matt Aultman, Marshall Combs, and Larry Holmes were present.

The Board approved Resolution (R-227-2023). This resolution is a fund transfer of $60,161.59 from the County Fund to the Child Support Enforcement Agency for August Support.

The Board then approved a request for qualification statements to professional Consultants for the County Airport. This qualification statement says, “The Darke County Board of Commissioners anticipates receiving grants from the Federal Airport Administration (FAA) or other Government Agencies for projects during the next five years at the Darke County Airport. At this time, the Commissioners are soliciting Statement of Qualifications and other supporting information from qualified professional consulting firms, teams, or individuals to complete this work.”

“Currently, it is a requirement through the FAA to rebid every five years our engineering firm,” Commissioner Matt Aultman said. “The current firm we have is Crawford Murphy and Tilly; they have been on Board with us since 2018, when a lot of our projects started. We are up for a review of the qualifications of these individuals. We do have some other engineering firms to question when we do it as well.”

The Board then approved a quote for the Darke County Sheriff’s Control Room. This is for cabinets, tops, etc., and shipping. Per the Facilities and Safety Manager, one quote was obtained due to a specific grade for Sheriff’s Department. The quote is from Innovative Office Solutions (IOS), Maria Stein, Ohio, and is $21,523.60.
