Commissioners discuss appropriation transfers

GREENVILLE – The Darke County Board of Commissioners met on Thursday afternoon to discuss transfers of appropriations and expense requests. 

Commissioners Matt Aultman, Marshall Combs, and Larry Holmes were present.

The board approved Resolution (R-20-2024). This resolution is a couple of transfers of appropriations for the Juvenile Court and the Airport. A transfer of $1,000 is going to the Juvenile Court to cover education and training material for probation. A transfer of $2,878 is going to the Juvenile Court to cover a 1/3 portion of the internet for 2024. Lastly, A transfer of $257.09 is going to the Airport for uniforms. 

The board also approved an expense request for the Darke County Sheriff’s Office. This is for three people to attend the 2024 Ohio School Resource Officer Conference at Kalahari Resort in Sandusky, Ohio. The cost is for registration and is $670 each for a total of $2010. 

At the end of the meeting, Commissioner Marshall Combs discussed the Darke County Visitors Bureau and its goals for 2024. 

“We met with Greg Billing with the Darke County Visitors Bureau and went over things for 2024 and goals,” Commissioner Combs said. “We have our first committee board meeting coming up on Tuesday. We are just trying to get more folks interested in visiting the county and helping revamp some of the events that might’ve seen a drop in attendees. It’s a great board to be a part of; if you ever have time, stop into the welcome center to see what is going on around the county.”
