GREENVILLE – The Darke County Board of Commissioners met Tuesday afternoon.
Commissioners Matt Aultman, Marshall Combs and Larry Holmes were all present.
Commissioners signed a proclamation to recognize October 2024 as National Arts and Humanities Month. Commissioners encourage citizens and community members to celebrate and promote the arts and culture in Darke County.
Under Resolution (R-353-2024), Examination and Allowance of Bills dated for October 8th, 2024 were read and approved. The amount of the General Fund was $52,642.31; Outside General Funds were $90,395.27; with a Grand Total of $143,037.72.
Under Resolution (R-356-2024), Commissioners approved the Revenue & Appropriation Increases and Fund Advance (Two Steps) 2024 Litter Grant.
Step one states that the Darke County Solid Waste District is requesting that “Revenue & Appropriation Increases” be changed. The total amount received from the grant was higher than estimated at the beginning of the year. The total revenue increase amount for the State Grant was $5,125.00. The total appropriation increase amount for trash hauling was also $5,125.00.
Step two states that the Darke County Solid Waste District is requesting that a Fund Advance in the amount of $5,125.00 is completed to help cover the Tire Recycling cost until the revenue is received from the grant.
Commissioners approved the fixed date of the request of quotes for the Collection of Recycling Items, effective January 2025 for five years. The deadline for submission will be October 21st, 2024 at 4 pm.
Commissioners also approved the ‘Termination of Lease and Sublease-Family Health Services & County of Darke.’
“Typically with public health, they go through a government entity to carry a bond. The bond back in 2003 was signed off by the county on a lease of two Family Health facilities,” stated Commissioner Aultman. “They asked for a lease termination, as they have paid their bond debt off.”
