DARKE COUNTY – The August 12, 2025, Darke County Commissioners meeting started at 1:33 p.m. with Commissioners Aultman, Flatter, and Combs present. The Commissioner’s first order of business was the reading of session minutes from Thursday, the 7th. They were approved. The session proceeded with the examination and allowance of bills for August 7th and 12th. Vouchers amounting to $20.101.99 out of the General Fund, and outside funds of $284,246.19 for a total of $304,348.18 were approved for payment.
Amounts and rates as determined by the Budget Commission, authorizing tax levies and then certifying them, was next. The General fund rate is 3 mills, totaling $5,449,360.00. The mental health levy, expiring in 2031, is two mills, totaling $ 2,010,780.00. The other mental health levy is 1.3 mills, totaling $1,306,260.00. The Tri County Mental Health Levy expiring in 2026 is .60 mills totaling $668,430.00. The township and village percentage share remains at 30.00, giving to local governments $541,417.03. All Commissioners voted yes.
The Sheriff had a fund advance back from the 2023 JAG grant of $2,015.91, and an expense request for Officer Ben Belcher to attend a Basic Fire Investigation class in Englewood for $740.00. Both were approved.
