GREENVILLE – The Darke County Board of Commissioners met Tuesday afternoon.
Commissioners Matt Aultman, Marshall Combs, and Aaron Flatter were all present.
Under Resolution (R-72-2025), the Examination and Allowance of Bills dated February 27 & March 4, 2025, was read and approved. The General Fund was $62,419.75; outside general funds were $63,592.56, for a Grand Total of $126,012.31
Commissioners approved a Delinquent Debt Collection Agreement between the Ohio Attorney General and Darke County Municipal Court.
“It’s available now that any kind of delinquency is able to go through a debt collection process with the Ohio Attorney General’s Office. It’s anything from 30 days back to 10 years of delinquency,” explained Commissioner Aultman.
“She (Judge Julie Monnin) is asking in this agreement to be able to submit these past debts for collections through the Attorney General Yost’s Office.”
Commissioners also approved the awarding of PY2023 Lead Safe Ohio Grant Funds.
Repair Work: Replacement of roof, siding, windows, and doors along with Interior water line repair.
Project Amount: $46,850.00 – Contract to C.C. Seamless, LLC of Paulding, Ohio
The project not to Exceed: $52,350.00- Lead Safe Ohio Program Funds including soft costs.
This award is part of the funding that the Ohio Department of Development has provided to help remove presumed lead-based paint-building components from residential structures built prior to 1978.
The commissioners approved the Support of State Issue 2 – Renewal of State Capital Improvement Program on May 6, 2025, for the Statewide Ballot. The program helps fund local infrastructure projects in communities across Ohio and has provided over $7 billion for improvements to keep Ohio’s roads and bridges safe and in good condition.
Darke County has benefited from SCIP and received more than $800,000.00 yearly in grant funds and loans between 2020 and 2023.
Commissioners also approved one expense request.
Sheriff Mark Whittaker and Chief Deputy Randy Linkous will be attending the Indiana Ag Threats & Security Summit in Carmel, Indiana, on March 25, 2025. The estimated total for the two is $120.00.
